The Swiss Post Office was flexible when it came to the carriage of mailbags and packages. The prototype of the Land Rover 88 was used for many years to transport the valuable cargo over short distances using a trailer. At WIKING, post office models have several decades of tradition, and even in the 1950s they were miniaturised as post office trucks and buses, at that time, of course, unglazed. Post office models are still greatly treasured today by those who collect them.
Body in Swiss Post Office yellow, chassis silver. Front seats and steering wheel black. Roof in light ivory with silver roof rack. Wheels black. Trailer with Swiss Post Office yellow flatbed and black partition grilles. Chassis, bogie, and draw-bar painted silver. Headlamps with silver frames and windscreen wipers. PTT logo on side doors, and silver running board. Hand-painted headlamps and reversing lights.
Year of manufacture: 1958-71.
